U.S. infests local competitors
The owner of a pizzeria in Pennsylvania was arrested Monday for trying to infect mice with the businesses of two competitors. The local police chief spoke of "food terrorism." To end up behind bars Galiatsatos Nikolas, 47, owner of Bella Nina's Pizzeria in Upper Darby near Philadelphia.
The man, an unnamed plastic bag in hand, on the afternoon of Monday, entered the pizzeria near Verona Pizza. As if nothing had happened, he asked to use the bathroom. Fanis Facas, owner of the premises, but must have been suspicious of the presence of his rival, so, once they came out, went to check the toilet: after noting the presence of fingerprints on the toilet, he discovered, hidden in the cavity ceiling, a bag containing live mice.
Facas immediately called the police, which is put on the trail of Galiatsatos: the man was spotted just before it as it headed toward the pizzeria Uncle Nick's Pizza. And right here, hidden in a garbage can, officers found another bag with five live rats and one dead. For Galiatsatos are then taken in handcuffs and charged with corruption, conduct contrary to public policy and animal abuse.
